Hey Guys!
You would be surprised how many items you have around the house that can be used for your makeup or hair. My favorite example of this: corn starch. Go ask your mom if you have any! She will most likely say yes. But even if you don't, you can pick this up at any grocery store for super cheap! You will most likely find it in the baking aisle, by the sugar and flour.
I have recently discovered my favorite use for this common household item. That would be using it as a setting powder.
First put on a tinted mousturizer / foundation, or just use it by itself. When I do this, I like to use a big fluffy powder brush. Simply dip it in some corn starch, (I put a couple of teaspoons in a tubberware container and have kept it in my room) and tap off the excess. Make sure you don't have too much on your brush! Work it into your skin. Although this is easier to blend into lighter skin colors, you can use this on darker complexions. It really isn't that hard to blend in. This is really good for people who have combination oily skin, because it eliminates the grease. Using this as a powder leaves your skin super soft, creating a smooth surface to apply your bronzer and blush.

Dash and Lily's Book of Dares
Today, I am going to be doing my first book review! It is going to be on Dash and Lily's Book of Dares. This book was co written by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan.
I am going to start off with a brief summary. For those of you that are interested in reading this, there will be no spoilers here!
This book takes place in New York City during the Christmas season. The chapters are split between Dash's life and Lily's life. Lily's parents are away for the Christmas, and her brother is completely devoted to his boyfriend. She feels sort of alone, so her brothers convince her to hide a notebook in her favorite bookstore. Inside the notebook are clues for whoever finds it to follow. The last clue leads the person to give it back to a specific worker at the store, so it can be passed off again to Lily. Dash and Lily, two completely unlike characters, meet because of this notebook.
Here's my review of this book.
I thought this book was great. I loved all of the kooky characters. My favorite scene was the one that occurred in the dictionary closet. I think it is very interesting how they wrote this. Rachel wrote Lily's chapters, and David wrote Dash's. The setting was perfect. I have not read that many books set in New York City.
Overall, I would give this book 4 1/2 out of 5 stars.

Super Simple Braid Wrapped Ponytail!
Today, I am going to be showing you guys how to do a braid wrapped ponytail. It's really easy, and once you get the hang of it, you can do it in only 30 seconds! It's a fun and simple way to spice up a plain ponytail. Plus, it will stay in through a day of school or sports practice.
Here are the things you will need:
A ponytail holder (preferably one that matches your hair color)
A small hair rubber band (preferably a clear one)
Finally, a Topsy Tail
- You can buy one here or make your own. The one I am using is homemade.
You are going to want to start out with tangle free hair. Pull your hair into a ponytail. You can place your ponytail wherever you wish. Secure it with the ponytail holder.
Next, you are going to want to take the Topsy Tail and place the pointy end through a layer of your ponytail holder. Pull it down until the looped end is the only part above your ponytail holder.
Now, you are going to want to take a section of hair in the ponytail and braid it all of the way down. Secure it with the smaller rubber elastic.
Wrap the braided piece around the base of your ponytail. (You will also be wrapping it around the Topsy Tail.
When you cannot wrap it any more, take the end through the loop of the Topsy Tail. Remember to keep your hand on this end piece
With your other hand, you are going to grab the pointy end of the Topsy Tail and pull down. The Topsy Tail will go through the elastic, securing your braid as well.
Now, your look is complete! If you did not use a hair color elastic, you might want to check to make sure you cannot see it. If you can, you might have to do this a couple of times until you get it covered.
For a different look, you can wrap your ponytail in a piece of hair without braiding it. This gives it a sophisticated and elegant look.

Get to Know Me: 25 Questions Tag
Hi guys,
I wanted to do a blog post so you guys could get to know me better. I was looking around Youtube and decided on the 25 Questions Tag. So here goes... (:
1. Do you have any pets?
Yep! I have one dog. She's a mix between a mini pinscher and an italian greyhound. I also have two birds, one sun conure and one parakeet.
2. Name 3 things that are physically close to you.
My phone, my Ipod, and a bunch of nailpolish (among the other mess on my desk)
3. What's the weather like right now?
Well, the sun is down, but today it has been hot and humid.
4. Do you drive? If so, have you crashed?
Nope, I don't drive yet. I have less than a year though!
5. What time did you wake up this morning?
Around 10:10
6. When was the last time you showered?
This morning
7. What was the last movie you saw?
The last whole movie was Definitely Maybe. Today, I watched parts of House Bunny and parts of Freaky Friday. The last movie I saw in theaters was either Snow White and the Huntsman or Brave. They were both really good movies!

On Verizon, it's Sunshine.
10. Have you ever been to a different country?
No, unfortunately. I might go to Spain soon for school though.

Surprising, I have never had it.

A couple of years ago, I took melatonin the night before the first day of school. It didn't work.

Sweet sixteen! So excited!! I have had a countdown on my Ipod since the day after my 15th birthday. heheh

Nail Polish Review! Sinful Colors- Snow Me White
Hi guys, Today I wanted to review a Sinful Colors nail polish in Snow Me White (101.) This color can be compared to OPI Alpine's Snow. However, the price is much more agreeable. I purchase my Sinful Colors Nail Polishes at Walgreen's when they have the 99cents deal. Even normally priced, they only cost $2. I am not sure, however, where else you can buy this brand. (Comment down below where you purchase Sinful Colors.)
This color goes on smoothly and becomes opaque after just 2 coats. This polish has no shimmer, nor is it matte.
I love this nail polish. However, after owning it for only 2 weeks, the polish had already gotten sticky and impossible to work with. Did I get a defective one, or is this polish always like this.
I put nail polish remover into the polish to thin it out a little, but this only lasts for about 15 minutes. Then it becomes sticky again.
Pros: Smooth and Opaque, Super Cheap
Cons: Dries out quickly

BONUS POST! ELF Neutral Palette
So, I know I said I was going to post every other day. However, I wanted to put some posts onto my blog, so people will have something to read if they come across my blog. Therefore, happy bonus post day! There might be a couple of those today. (:

Now, for the actual topic

I recently purchased an eyeshadow palette from the drugstore. It was super cheap ($3.00) And, it comes with six eyeshadows. It is by elf. It is their Essential Beauty School Eyeshadow Compact

Let me start this review by saying that these eyeshadows are not for those that do not like shimmer. However if you like shimmery eyeshadows, these are for you. I got the one in the color neutral.
The palette is about the size of my palm.
The top color is a pearly white (perfect for the inner corner.)
The bottom color is a little more skinned tone.
These two colors aren't that different. (Shimmery, light gun-metal color)
These colors are perfect for smokey eyes. The top color is a dark bronze, and the bottom color is a dark gun-metal.)
Pros: Very Pigmented, Smooth
Cons: Tons of fall out, Maybe a little too much shimmer

I have been watching these guys and their daily vlogs since about November 2011. (compared to others I am a newbie; they have been vlogging for 3 years!) This family posts a vlog every day on Youtube. It's a whole family project. You also may have heard of shaycarl, katilette, heykayli, carliestylez, or caseylavere. They are all related.
I absolutely love this family. Would you like to adopt me? :P Their kids are adorable, and they are all absolutely hilarious. If you are ever in a funk, check out one of their videos. Bet you it will instantly make you happier. Their family is completely outgoing, not afraid to do anything even if they are in public. Sontard has amazing dance moves. Princesstard is outgoing and has the best style. Babytard has a beautiful voice. (just like her mommy.) And Rocktard is just pdeffinp. (Shaytards slang.)
